Thousands of years ago, Nunkui taught the Shuar how to survive sustainably in the Amazon jungle. For us to say &#8220;Friends of Nunkui&#8221; is to say that we are friends of Mother Earth, the key to our survival.</span></h2>

Young Shuar are loosing their culture at a rapid pace, many only speak Spanish now and have not been taught the customs of their people.</p>
